New Delhi: It is big
breaking news for the IPL fans. Indian premier league 2020 has been suspended
until April 15 due to global concerns that surround now – COVOID – 19 or corona
virus. The media release of the BCCI signed by the board secretary Jay Shah
stated that "The BCCI is concerned and sensitive about all its
stakeholders, and public health in general, and it is taking all necessary
steps to ensure that, all people related to IPL including fans have a safe
cricketing experience".
The
state governments have already taken action and raise their voices to these
sporting bodies for suspending these kinds of sporting events. The Fans have to
wait for the renewed schedule yet to be sketched out. There is a strong possibility
that BCCI can change the home-away format so that the venues are set to be
limited.

It
is the 13th season of the IPL, and it was originally scheduled to start from
March 29. But India's sports ministry had issued an advisory to all the
National Sports Federations, including BCCI, affirmed that big events couldn’t
be avoided, so it should be done without any spectator.
Not just IPL, other sporting
events also get interrupted including ATP Tour (Tennis) and the NBA (National
Basketball Association). These sporting events are suspended because of the
rapid increase in the cases of COVID- 19. Even some cricket series is ongoing
without the spectators. The BCCI has already confirmed that two ODIs against
South Africa will be played without any spectator. Other cricketing tournaments
that have been suspended due to COVID-19 are Road Safety T20 series (India),
Australia Women's tour of South Africa, Africa T20 Cup, and World XI VS Asia
XI.
The
the decision is correct to some extent because according to the WHO, around 118
nations affected by novel Corona virus and had over 4,300 deaths across the
globe, which is a copious number. In India, 79 people have been laid low by the
virus, and it is affecting health and wealth severely. Now many countries are
taking strict actions to combat this situation. Even the top 8 nations of the
world get the severely hit by this virus.
The
mass gathering must be avoided, and in that context, the Delhi government also
has taken initiative and closed down all the theatres, schools, and colleges
till 31 march. Delhi government has also Declared COVOID- 19 as the Epidemic.
If you and anyone in your
surrounding have the symptom of COVID -19, you must reach to any health care
centre for the prevention from this monstrous disorder and follow the
guidelines provided by the WHO.
